Summary

The all-new Wild Widows series about a group of grieving survivors who take Roni into their fold to help her cope with the loss of her husband。

The group has only one requirement—members must be willing to entertain the possibility of a “Chapter 2,” as it’s called in widow circles, which means a second chance at love。

Roni
After I suddenly lose my husband, Patrick, in a senseless shooting, I’m lost in a sea of well-meaning people trying to make the unimaginable seem possible。 How am I supposed to go on without the man who's been at the center of my life for nearly a decade? My friends and family do what they can for me, but I quickly realize that surviving this loss is going to be on me。 One day to the next, I have to make the decision to go on, but life isn’t done throwing me ringers, and just when I think I’ve got this young widow game figured out, I find out how wrong I am。 When a friend of my sister’s connects me to the Wild Widows, I find a group of fellow travelers who understand my new reality in a way no one else in my life ever could。 The Wild Widows have one requirement for membership to their group—I must be open to the possibility of a Chapter 2, which is what they call a second chance at love。 While I’m not in any way looking for or ready for a Chapter 2, if I’ve learned anything it’s that I’m not in control of where this journey will take me。

Come along as Roni and the other Wild Widows navigate their new realities with grace, humor and compassion。 They will make you laugh and cry and root for each and every one of them in this exciting, heartfelt new series from New York Times bestselling author Marie Force。

Very well written。Grief is a hard topic, but the Wild Widows are there to help each other through it。 Others who haven't been there don't know how it really feels。 Iris is a great leader of the group。 She is a wonderful friend to Roni。 Roni's husband, Patrick, was shot and killed by a stray bullet when he was going to the grocery store。 Her family and friends are there for her, but the Widows group helps even more。 This is a poignant story of how Roni grows during the year after Patrick's death。 Very well written。Grief is a hard topic, but the Wild Widows are there to help each other through it。 Others who haven't been there don't know how it really feels。 Iris is a great leader of the group。 She is a wonderful friend to Roni。 Roni's husband, Patrick, was shot and killed by a stray bullet when he was going to the grocery store。 Her family and friends are there for her, but the Widows group helps even more。 This is a poignant story of how Roni grows during the year after Patrick's death。 She is able to embrace her new job and new friends while missing her husband。 She even has a special friend that she met as she was waking in her neighborhood。 She calls him "Not Patrick" Even though he resembles him from the back he is not Patrick。 "Not-Patrick" likes to tease Roni about how she stalked him。 They have a sweet relationship。I was sad to see the last page。 I was enjoying this story so much。I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book。 It’s an emotional journey journey and I cried。 I really felt for Roni and how she can’t comprehend how to go forward without the “ love of her life”。 The loss of her husband really gutted her。 Loved when she joined the Wild Widows and starts to heal。 I’m glad to say there’s a happy ever after for her。 I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I recommend this book。

Wow!!!!!Touching story that keeps the reader spellbound。 I cried, but for so many different reasons。 This story evoked sadness, hurt, anger, joy, frustration, exhilaration, all the emotions possible to feel at one time。 Marie Force proves yet again she is a terrific author with her finger on the pulse of human emotion。

Wow! I don't know what to say。 I have always enjoyed Marie Force's books but this one was outstanding。 I don't know that I have ever cried so much reading a book。 The book is about Roni Connolly who was introduced in her Fatal Series。 Roni lost her husband to violence when they had been married a few months though they were together for ten years。 The book addresses the things Roni goes through in her grief。 She finds a group called the Wild Widows who help her so much。 Each person in the group Wow! Note: An ARC was provided by the author via Wildfire Marketing Solutions。I'll be honest, my expectations for this book were astronomically high。 After all, we're talking about the first in a new series from Marie Force, and not just any new series either。 Wild Widows is a spin-off of the author's uber popular and much loved Fatal series--which is one of my all-time favorites of any genre--and you can imagine the sort of legacy this new series has to live up to while also creating its own。 But I Note: An ARC was provided by the author via Wildfire Marketing Solutions。I'll be honest, my expectations for this book were astronomically high。 After all, we're talking about the first in a new series from Marie Force, and not just any new series either。 Wild Widows is a spin-off of the author's uber popular and much loved Fatal series--which is one of my all-time favorites of any genre--and you can imagine the sort of legacy this new series has to live up to while also creating its own。 But I needn't have worried because this truly inspiring series starter surpassed any and all of my lofty expectations。Someone Like You is the first Wild Widows novel, and it's set in Washington, D。C。 The series is about a support group of the same name composed of widows and widowers and has one requirement--aside from the obvious--and that is members must be open to the possibility of a second chance at love, aka their chapter two。 The newest person to join their ranks is Veronica Connolly, a widow at twenty-nine after her husband of three and a half months--the man she's loved for nearly a decade--was killed by a stray bullet。 This book is Roni's journey as she learns to live, and maybe even love, again。I was prepared with a box of tissues going into this book, and I made good use of it, thank you very much。 Five Years Gone and One Year Home were the two books by Marie Force that have made me weep, and now, you can add Someone Like You to that list。 Roni's loss and the aftermath that she lives through is heartrending, but her story is one filled with hope as well。 I love how the past is honored and respected, how the present is promising but we're reminded that it's okay to not be okay, and how the future is anything you want it to be--you just have to be open to the possibilities。 This book is on my shortlist for my top reads for 2022 and for five-plus-starred reasons。 。。。more

Lovely story about young widows, and told by a master storyteller like Maria Force! Every now and then I come across a book that, when I am done, I realize has left me a bit different than I was when I started the book。 Someone Like You is one of those。 My challenge now is to tell you enough so that you can decide if you want to read the book, but not so much that I risk ruining the book experience for you。 Someone Like You is a bit of a crossover in that the main character, Roni, first appeared in Ms Force’s Fatal series。 That said this is a complete standalone and can be read Every now and then I come across a book that, when I am done, I realize has left me a bit different than I was when I started the book。 Someone Like You is one of those。 My challenge now is to tell you enough so that you can decide if you want to read the book, but not so much that I risk ruining the book experience for you。 Someone Like You is a bit of a crossover in that the main character, Roni, first appeared in Ms Force’s Fatal series。 That said this is a complete standalone and can be read that way。 When we meet Roni, she has just experienced a tragic event。 The story here follows her as she deals with the grief associated with that and begins to move forward。 One of the things I appreciated most about Ms Force’s approach here is that she let Roni be honest in her feelings and gives her an excellent support network。 I will say that there is a bit of “best case scenario” here that may not be 100% realistic, but it’s a fictional story and I don’t know about you, but I want that best case…。。 A piece of Roni’s support network is the Wild Widows and they (along with Roni’s family) make up the majority of the secondary cast。 This is a group that I enjoyed getting to know and hope to see more of as this series develops。 There are multiple pearls of wisdom given out here that I found relevant and touching。 Seeing Roni’s journey and some of the challenges she faces have in turned challenged the way I see certain events and the responses to them。 Readers need to go into this book knowing that it is an emotional read。 It’s a reading journey worth taking and it may leave you a bit different on the other side, but I honestly think the changes will be for the better in terms of empathy and understanding。 。。。more

SOMEONE LIKE YOU is an amazing start to a new series by Marie Force, some of you may know Roni from a The Fatal Affairs Series, she was in book 14, but if you're like me and haven't read that book no worries you don't need to this can be read totally independent of that series。 I will mention that I absolutely LOVE her Love interest in this book, I will not mention his name because that would be a HUGE spoiler and I don't believe in giving spoilers in my reviews。 I simply wasn't prepared for all SOMEONE LIKE YOU is an amazing start to a new series by Marie Force, some of you may know Roni from a The Fatal Affairs Series, she was in book 14, but if you're like me and haven't read that book no worries you don't need to this can be read totally independent of that series。 I will mention that I absolutely LOVE her Love interest in this book, I will not mention his name because that would be a HUGE spoiler and I don't believe in giving spoilers in my reviews。 I simply wasn't prepared for all of the emotions I felt with this story。。。it has you thinking of your own mortality and what would you do if you lost the love of your life or if you were the one to pass, what would you want them to do after you're gone。 So many feelings, sadness is at the top but there was so much joy too。 This story is one you don't want to miss!I would recommend this book to everyone that enjoys a deep connection between the characters, a slow burn Romance, Love after Loss Romances, or Single Parent Romances。Happy Reading!!!Find out more here ➡ https://bit。ly/3rOIPWe **I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my Blog, Nadine's Obsessed with BooksYou can find me here:  https://linktr。ee/NadineBookaholic 。。。more

5 Star Review of Someone Like You (Wild Widows #1) by Marie ForceWow, Someone Like You, the first book in the Wild Widows Series, a spin off from the Fatal Affairs and First Family series from Marie Force certainly packs a punch。This book was an emotional roller coaster of a read and one I couldn’t put down once I started it。 We met Roni Connolly in Fatal Reckoning when tragedy struck and devastated her life, so I couldn’t wait to see what Ms。 Force had in store for her。 This book was everything 5 Star Review of Someone Like You (Wild Widows #1) by Marie ForceWow, Someone Like You, the first book in the Wild Widows Series, a spin off from the Fatal Affairs and First Family series from Marie Force certainly packs a punch。This book was an emotional roller coaster of a read and one I couldn’t put down once I started it。 We met Roni Connolly in Fatal Reckoning when tragedy struck and devastated her life, so I couldn’t wait to see what Ms。 Force had in store for her。 This book was everything I was expecting and so much more。 If this book is anything to go by, Marie Force has yet another winning series on her hands。 This book got to me on a number of levels and I felt as though it burrowed into my soul。 My emotions were all over the place; there were times that I laughed and times that I cried but throughout this read I felt the hope, love and support that surrounded Roni。There were times that my heart broke for Roni and the devastating grief that appears to be smothering her。 This story tackles a number of difficult issues and Ms。 Force handled them with grace and dignity; she didn’t shy away from the hard realities that life can throw at us。 This is a story of hope and second chances, it was realistic, emotional and extremely well written。 。。。more

Oh my heart, this one has a little of everything, and it's one of the absolute best emotional reads I’ve seen in a long time。 Plus, it's loosely set in the Fatal world, so we get to catch up with some of our favorite characters。Roni Connolly lost her husband suddenly and way too soon。 She spends her days and long, lonely nights mired in grief。 Sure, she tries to put on a good face for her family, but she can’t seem to move beyond Patrick's death。 It doesn’t seem real to her, to the point that sh Oh my heart, this one has a little of everything, and it's one of the absolute best emotional reads I’ve seen in a long time。 Plus, it's loosely set in the Fatal world, so we get to catch up with some of our favorite characters。Roni Connolly lost her husband suddenly and way too soon。 She spends her days and long, lonely nights mired in grief。 Sure, she tries to put on a good face for her family, but she can’t seem to move beyond Patrick's death。 It doesn’t seem real to her, to the point that she sees a man from behind that looks like Patrick, only to find, when he turns around, that he’s clearly not her beloved Patrick。 With help from her sister, Roni connects with a group who call themselves the Wild Widows。 They’ve all lost a partner and meet weekly to try to help each other。 Instead of well meaning folks who offer flimsy platitudes or often say completely the wrong thing, Roni finds people who really understand the challenges of grief and the struggle to carry on with life。This is a story about overcoming grief, learning to live in a new reality, and finding a second chance at love。 With some of the same excitement and drama we find in the Fatal series, Wild Widows series is all about healing and new beginnings。 Brilliantly written, full of grace, healing and hope, this will be one of your most extraordinary reads of all time, so make sure you don’t miss it! 。。。more
